Cumbria’s Haunted Corpse Road
THE ARMITT MUSEUM & LIBRARY
A talk by Alan Cleaver and Lesley Park
Wednesday October 31st at 7pm
Corpse roads were used in medieval times to carry the dead from remote villages to the mother church; one passes right by the Armitt on its way to Grasmere. Not surpris- ingly these ancient paths became imbued with superstition, tradition and more than the occasional ghost.
Authors Alan Cleaver and Lesley Park will give a talk, suitably on Halloween, about these paths and their legends.
Tickets £5. Refreshments provided during the interval.
Please telephone or email the Armitt to reserve tickets.
